Body/Mind/Spirit Of Collaboration Workshop
This acting clinic was built to engage performers in the full body/mind/spirit practice of acting, and explore how this triangle forms the foundation of an actor’s process. Students will focus on these three principles through active exercises, textual analysis of scenes, and working together as a team to bring stories to life as an ensemble. This three week course scaffolds students from an individual process of creating a character to the collaborative process of building a play together. The goal is to provide performers with a blueprint to build their own process and discipline- celebrating their creative voices, instincts, and spirits. This workshop can be taught in-person or online.
The Floating Text Project Workshop
The Floating Text Project was created to take actors on a diagnostic journey to uncover areas in your rehearsal process that can use sharpening and focus. This week long course helps actors in building bold characters, honing in on strong textual analysis skills, and maintaining a fully present, free, alive performance. Each student will choose from a list of excerpts without any citation notes to begin building character development and story context. This workshop can be taught in-person or online.
Building the House: Devising Handmade stories Workshop
The stories we have are already inside of us- they just need to be freed with fear or hesitation. This workshop invites participants to explore their own cultural identities through personal reflection, family history, research, and community investigation. The goal by the end of this workshop is to create a robust outline to a story that is ready to be written by YOU- the way only YOU can tell it! We will explore physical approaches to story creation, verbatim text use, and how to craft a structure that supports the themes of your story. This workshop can also be taught in-person, online or in individual sessions.
