Body/Mind/Spirit Of Collaboration Workshop

Body/Mind/Spirit of Collaboration are the 3 main tenants used by the working actor at any stage of their career. This artist clinic is built to engage all the essential daily tools used by actors to create dynamic performances. Participants will explore physically active exercises, robust textual analysis of scenes, and working together as a team to bring stories to life as an ensemble. This three week course scaffolds students from an individual process of creating a character to the collaborative process of building a play together. The goal is to build a personalized blueprint to your own creative process and discipline- celebrating individual instincts and wisdom to get you into a zone of freedom in performance.This workshop can be taught in-person or online.

The Floating Text Project Workshop

The Floating Text Project takes actors on a diagnostic journey to uncover areas in your character building process that can use sharpening and focus. This week-long course guides actors in building bold characters, honing in on strong textual analysis skills, and maintaining a fully present, free, and alive performance. Participants will choose text from a list of excerpts and explore tools and exercise to build characters and generate a fully realized life. This workshop can be taught in-person or online.

Building the House: Devising Handmade stories Workshop

Do you have a story that you’ve always wanted to tell- but just don’t know where to begin, and most importantly finish. The stories we have are already inside of us but can be locked up for a variety of reasons- wanting to be freed without fear or hesitation. This workshop invites participants to explore their own cultural identities through personal reflection, family history, research, and community investigation. The goal by the end of this workshop is to create a robust outline to a story that is ready to be written by YOU- the way only YOU can tell it! We will explore physical approaches to story creation, verbatim text use, and how to craft a structure that supports the themes of your story. This workshop can also be taught in-person, online or in individual sessions.
